Answer :

Employers have the same health and safety responsibilities for employees working from home. In my organization management is also concerned about the workers’ health and has taken the following actions on managing risk from the spread of the deadly covid-19 virus.

-The Organization is ISO-45000 certified and professional and they value their moral duty of care for the employees. During the outbreak of pandemic Company has complied with the government instruction by allowing all the workers to work from home. Working from home will eventually reduce the risk of virus transmission to the minimal level and will eliminate the hazard at the workplace.

-You as an HSE advisor in the company have developed new procedure and guidance on best practice for remote working from home including setup and arrangements of work station in home working environment ergonomically and in avoiding stress and anxiety.

-The organization has also implemented the use of latest technology widely for effective remote working such as video conferencing, computer based team meetings and contacting clients.

-Management is also concerned about the mental health and stress of workers due to which they have also advised to schedule 30 minutes team meetings virtually in all departments to keep in touch with co-workers and also developed a forum for raising complaints and concerns.

-Personal private meeting one on one is also arranged for the workers who are hesitant to discuss their concerns in group meetings. There has been development of new procedures in safety on remote working from home and circulated with all workers.

Considering all above comments management approach was up to the mark in managing risk for the all the workers working remotely from home.
