What is PNR(Passenger Name Record)?

PNR number, PNR or PNR code is  E-detail(electronic) consist of several digits and letters, which is given after booking a flight or taking Reservation in Railways.

PNR basically stands for “ Passenger Name Record ” and it is used as a booking number. 


How to Get the PNR Code?

After purchasing tickets Via Online, PNR number including your own details & about your Train/flight number, seat number/coach for Railways, Plate-form/Terminal number & date/timing is sent to you through SMS or email. keep that SMS or check another section of the digital file sent via email. It is compulsory for passengers to give their phone numbers and emails correct while purchasing their tickets online. They should check their details carefully to avoid any mistake.


How to Use PNR Code?

PNR is an digital certificate which allow passengers to do online bookings & check-in or manage their bookings quickly. PNR is an 10 digit alpha numeric unique number allotted to each passengers against their each booked tickets. First 3-digit numbers of PNR number denotes zone of train according to Passenger Reservation System (PRS) and remaining 7-digit numbers is generated by the computer system arbitrarily. This code allows passengers to manage their bookings such as reprinting lost tickets. Passengers can buy additional baggage, change their contact details or purchase additional services on Manage My Booking section using PNR.

Travelers can find their PNR code on their email or SMS including their flight/train details. PNR is required for online check-in and it is the fastest way to know about flight/train details. Online check-in PNR saves the amount of time spent at the airport/railway station and helps passengers to have a comfort travelling experience.
